Do Eufy Indoor Cameras work with Homebase?

The Eufy 2k and Eufy pan and tilt are two great indoor smart cameras. Eufy also sells a Homebase that is used to record video and control Eufy cameras when you’re out of the house. But do Eufy Indoor Cameras work with Homebase? Here’s my guide:

Do Eufy indoor cameras work with HomeBase?

Do Eufy indoor cameras work with HomeBase?

No the Eufy indoor cameras are not compatible with Homebase. You can’t setup the Eufy indoor cameras to work with the Homebase.

The Eufy Homebase is designed to work with Eufy’s outdoor wireless cameras. Due to these cameras being located outside and relying on battery power, they record video differently. Instead of encrypting the video on the camera, the Eufy outdoor cameras send the video clips to the Homebase where it is stored and encrypted.

Can you still access Eufy Indoor Camera Feeds Remotely?

Yes. There are two ways you can access the Eufy camera feeds. You can use the Eufy app. This app will connect you directly to your camera feed. You can also use Apple HomeKit Secure Video. This is a more privacy focused option and the video feed will show up in the Apple Home app. I can confirm this works remotely.

Can the Eufy Indoor Cameras Record 24/7?

Yes! Unlike the outdoor camera range, because the Eufy Indoor cameras are wired, they can record video 24/7. You can either record video to the cloud or NAS or install a microSD card directly into the camera.

Do the Eufy Indoor Cameras have Motion Alerts?

Yes. While the alerts may not be as sophisticated as the new AI detection features on the latest home base, I’ve found the alerts to be very reliable. Eufy can alert you when a pet or person is visible on the camera. You can also setup motion zones just like with the homebase.

The Eufy Cameras also support HomeKit Secure Video which has its own motion alerts. All the video processing is done locally using your existing Apple Devices.

Can you mix Eufy Camera Types

Yes! The wireless cameras will need the Homebase to work. But they all show up the same in the Eufy App.
